JULIA MINJEONG KANG - CELLIST

 

Cellist Julia MinJeong Kang is an active performer, avid chamber musician, and passionate educator, deeply engaged in the vibrant classical music scene of the New York Tri-State area. Notably, she has performed in Phantom of the Opera, the longest-running musical on Broadway. Julia has collaborated with esteemed ensembles and orchestras, including the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, Mostly Mozart Festival Orchestra, Pegasus Orchestra, Mozart Orchestra of New York, and New York Classical Players.

Her versatility as a musician extends to the film industry, where she has contributed to the soundtracks of various films, including A Dog’s Purpose, Collateral Beauty, Keeping Up with the Joneses, The Girl on the Train, Noah, and numerous other major and independent projects. As a soloist, Julia has showcased her talent by performing concertos with prestigious orchestras such as the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, Moscow Chamber Orchestra, and Seoul Pops Orchestra.

In the realm of education, Julia has served as a faculty member at the Lyra Summer Festival and Workshop at Smith College and as an adjunct professor at Molloy College in New York. Currently, she teaches cello classes at Primoris Academy in New Jersey while maintaining her own private studio. Julia holds a Bachelor’s degree from the Manhattan School of Music, a Master’s degree from The Juilliard School, and a Doctorate of Musical Arts from SUNY Stony Brook University. With her extensive experience and dedication to music education, Julia is committed to inspiring and nurturing the next generation of musicians.
